“Rowan Lodge may have been booked at short notice, but it is worth a return stay.”
The lodge is extremely clean, warm, homely and spacious. It is in a excellent location, quiet and the grounds it is set in are lovely. There was everything in the lodge we needed. Plenty of hot water to. The only small issue I had, was the mattress on the double bed. To uncomfortable for me, but my husband slept like a log.
It was the wildlife that we all enjoyed as a family, feed the birds when you get there and you are rewarded with a beautiful song every morning. Leave peanut butter sandwiches out for the badgers, who are lovely to watch. Also leave out seconds as 5 minutes later another badger will follow. Also the roe deer made a appearance.
The park is so clean and tidy. The only thing that lets it down is the Haybarn inn, painfully slow and very expensive.

Thank you for leaving such a lovely review. It is a pleasure to read and great to hear that you enjoyed your stay so much that it is worth returning for another! We were sorry that the mattress was a little uncomfortable for you although quite the opposite for your husband - we do find comfort to be of a personal preference, having said that we will check the mattress for any damage and monitor future comments. The lodge is perfectly situated to take advantage of the wildlife, especially from the terrace. It has become a popular choice for those wanting to stay in a traditional log cabin surrounded by open countryside, and its own unlimited broadband connection for keeping in touch. We look forward to welcoming you again in the near future.
