“The property was generally ok, but the property could have done with a really good clean, we left the property cleaner than we received it.”
One of the large paving slabs which are used for the steps down to the property was broken in to three pieces, this is an accident waiting to happen, this should have been repaired prior to our visit, I feel this has been broken for while. The en-suite showers shower head riser was found to be broken but just usable, several of the fixtures are loose, ie.. toilet roll holders, the window in the main bedroom was open when we arrived, I just thought this was just for some ventilation but when I tried to close it, it wouldn’t, the window needs adjusting, I did manage to close it by lifting the opening window slightly but near opened again for security of the property. The lodge could benefit from some simple maintenance, but it was well equipped with the essential kitchen items and other items like a hairdryer. The general experience was ok, Limefitt is classed as a 5* park which in the main is a 4* at best, as stated above the property needs some work and the cleaning could have been much better prior to our arrival.
My final point is the Pub which is on site, I do realise this isn’t the responsibility of the lodge owner but feel you need to be made aware, we went for a meal on the first night and to be blunt the food was the worst I’ve ever had…… the pub it self is lovely and traditional and the staff friendly, but for the money we paid was absolutely shocking! We ordered a very simple Steak and ale pie with mash and veg, this meal must have been made previously and just microwaved, the mash didn’t even taste like mash, Parkdean need to change this, some simple changes could have a massive impact and make it somewhere holiday makers go more than once. Good food is not hard to make!
