There are many walks from Coniston including, Coniston Old Man, Cathedral Cavern and Hodge Close Quarry.
Coniston Copper Mines, Tarn Hows and for the very fit there is even a full 15-mile circular route around Coniston Water.
From the property, you can visit Grizedale Forest Park with Forest trail walks, cycle paths, a sculpture trail, GoApe treetop adventure, cafe, gift shop and picnic areas, the picturesque village of Hawkshead, and Ambleside, which is home to many independent shops and is close to the beautiful Lake Windermere, perfect for walks, watersports, and scenic cruises.
Mountain bike trails are available at Coniston and Grizedale while history buffs can spend an afternoon at the Stott Park Bobbin Mill Museum or Duddon Furnace, National Trust Wray Castle, The Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway, Lakeland Motor Museum or Swinside Stone Circle.
