Limefitt is one of the Lake District's most stunningly situated holiday parks. Set in the beautiful Troutbeck Valley, it is some three miles north of Windermere on the Ullswater road in the direction of Kirkstone Pass. This superb location has beautiful views and direct access to the fells.
Limefitt is a 5-star site and captures the very essence of the Lake District National Park. It is a place of peace and tranquillity with breathtaking scenery. It has also received the David Bellamy Gold Conservation Award.
Troutbeck flows through the park
View over Limefitt down the Troutbeck ValleyOne of the main features of Limefitt Park is Trout Beck itself. With its source high in the peaks of the nearby High Street range, the crystal clear waters run off the fells descending nearly 2000 feet and flowing for around seven miles down into Windermere. As the river is a trout fishery, not surprisingly many types of birds such as herons and kingfishers can be seen fishing along the beck.
Wildlife abounds in Limefitt because of its approach to conservation and if you are really lucky you may see a red squirrel.
Comfortable Lakeland Pub on site
The Haybarn Pub at Limefitt Park is a great place to relax.
The main focal point of Limefitt Park is The Haybarn. Until recent times Limefitt was a working Lakeland sheep farm and the old haybarn itself was turned into The Haybarn Inn. You can enjoy a selection of hand-pulled real ales such as Cumberland Ale. A range of hearty meals can also be ordered.
Outside the beer garden has stunning views of the area and is a sheer delight to sit out in on a nice evening.
The spectacular dog field at Limefitt Park
Limefitt also has a small shop and a launderette / drying room with ironing facilities. There is an outdoor children's play area and river pool. For dog owners there is probably one of the most spectaular dog field you will ever have the pleasure to walk in.
Free Wi-fi internet access is now available on site.
