Great lodge - well equipped, some signs of wear & tear. Fab hot tub. Good facilities in Park - quiet when went, not sure how would fare in peak season Lisa Bennett, North Shields

We stayed at woodland Beck over Easter weekend. The cabin was ready when we arrived and was well equipped. We were a party of 6 comprised of 4 adults and 2 children. The only slight disadvantage was that the cabin has just one bathroom but this was not a major issue. Also, due to poor weather before we arrived, we had to park one of the cars further away as the space outside was very muddy. There was space for two cars but only one space was actually useable. The cabin is nicely situated, not far from recycling points or the central amenities. We have stayed at White Cross Bay before so knew what to expect and the facilities are great. The leisure passes were a real bonus. The hot tub was lovely, not overlooked and all of us enjoyed being able to use it. Outdoor space was also ample. We would definitely return to Woodland Beck! The lodge was lovely and clean and warm and cosey. The only 2 complaints I have (which didn't upset us too much but did disappoint a little) was the hot tub was not 'hot' on day 1 or 2. I was told it took 1 degree per hour to get warm, so we left it hoping that this would be the case. However, on day 2 I had to ring the owner (who was really lovely) and it was mended the morning of day 3. As soon as the man responsible for the hot tub had been it was piping hot within less than an hour. On my return I got an email saying that it had been working properly from the start, but this was definately not the case! I feel that someone was covering their back here! Also, me and my husband we're very itchy after sitting on the living room floor, and had to take antihistamines for the rest of the week. I really do believe that someone had brought a dog or cat into the home. All in all it was a lovely holiday and the above did not spoil out stay, too much. The club on site was lovely and the location superb! Many thanks Shelley Guest , Barnsley
