WOW what an excellent stay in fantastic accommodation. The hot tub was a real bonus. The whole experience was great and as it was my first time to the lakes I was really impressed and will be returning. As this was for a friends 50th celebration we could not have asked for any more or better. Thank you. Nina Tinsley, Doncaster

Really relaxing family time !! Very good location ,friendly staff and great time ! One small issue was bad reception on the TV! But overall I would visit the site again ! Richard Hartley, Bradford

Very kind of you to write a review, Richard. Thank you. We are so pleased to hear you had a relaxing break and spent valuable time with your family. Occasionally the TV reception on the park can be a bit hit and miss depending on the weather, although, we like to think the scenery is a wonderful alternative and of course the hot tub. There are so many great walks in the area for all abilities and with the most stunning views to soak up. No better way to enjoy the Lakes. A lovely modern lodge in a quiet area of the park, ideal for spending quality time with the family. We are delighted to hear you will visit us again, do check out some of our other lodges that may be of interest to you (complete with your loyalty discount!).

This property felt reasonably private, tucked away from most of the rest of the site, but this did mean that it was quite close to the main road. The hot tub was a great treat. The lodge was very clean inside but some of the fittings and furniture were broken or damaged and had clearly been that way for some time. They could all easily have been put right and so it felt a bit neglected and tired and in need of attention which was a shame. Joshua Ellicott, Chorley

Woodland Beck is pleasantly situated although the main road runs along the back and you can hear the constant flow of traffic when in the bedrooms which doesn't make for a restful nights sleep. The hot tub is private which is a bonus as there are no other lodges behind. There are toys and books for the kids which is nice. It was very clean with adequate towels provided. The lodge itself is adequate enough but there are a few things that could make it more comfortable. Some welcome refreshments would be nice which we've had in other lodges we've stayed at in this park. There were a couple of packets of small biscuits but not enough for everyone. There are hardly any toiletries provided even though the lodge can accommodate 6 people. Enough toilet paper though. The beds are quite lumpy and hard but I suppose that depends on what you are used to. The kitchen appliances could do with an overhaul. The blinds were falling apart. The hot tub is spacious and very nice but had a tide mark and scum, could have done with a good clean. This was off putting. All in all it was an average lodge but has the potential to be much better with only a few small adjustments. Rebecca Parveen, Sale

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay, Rebecca. Your comments are very important to us and we are very sorry to hear the lodge wasn't quite to your satisfaction. Please accept out apologies. We are pleased to say that Woodland Beck is having an upgrade in the near future. The lodge is having a new kitchen installed with new appliances, blinds and much more. The finished result will be superb. As you have commented, the comfort of the beds is one of a personal preference. We are concerned with your comments about the hot tub. We have raised this with the servicing contractors to ensure it will not happen again. The hot tub was perfectly safe to use and is maintained to industry standards however please accept our apologies that the water quality wasn't as it should have been on this occasion. Woodland Beck is located where there can be some noise from the main road although it's privacy does make up for any minor inconvenience this may cause. All our lodges are self-catering accommodation so we provide a few basics (toilet rolls, soaps and complimentary biscuits) to get people started. We agree that the lake and marina are a good place to visit. Lake Windermere is beautiful and there are many picturesque spots for a picnic (even better when the suns out). We will be delighted for you to to visit again in the future and we are confident you will find Woodland Beck an even nicer place to stay.

About White Cross Bay

White Cross Bay is located between Windermere & Ambleside on the shores of Lake Windermere. It is one of the most popular holiday parks in the very heart of the Lake District and the great location makes it a convenient base for a self catering stay in the area.

The focal point is the lake front and marina with stunning views across to the surrounding fells and countryside. The park offers plenty to do with a large clubhouse which includes the bar, restaurant and leisure facilities (a £15 local charge applies to use the pool and gym).
